4-Year Program, Residential Track
Minimum: 180 hours of instruction, 8000 hours of on-the-job training

You'll work with electrical contractors who are performing commercial electrical work in the Washington Metropolitan area. The last two years of the program, you attend school one night a week.
     On the job you'll gain experience in branch circuit wiring, light fixture, receptacle and panelboard installation, and blueprint reading.
     In the class and lab you'll learn about Ohm's Law, AC and DC Theory, safety, basic blueprint reading, and wiring of elementary circuits.
     On the money. After you complete this program you can make from $17.33 - $23.32* an hour. When you work full-time at that rate, your earning potential is over $36,3100- $48,600 per year. Plus over $16,100 for Health and Retirement Benefits.

*Rate as of November 2007, subject to change due to the biannual contractual raise. Lower rate is the Shenandoah Zone.
